Upon closing a 721 transaction, you may have a built-in gain or loss generally based on the difference between the value of the contributed property at the time of contribution and the adjusted tax basis of the contributed property. Upon the fund’s disposition of the contributed property in a taxable transaction, your deferred built-in gain, if any, will be recognized and result in a taxable event for you. Please consult with your own tax, financial, investment, and legal advisors.
